About Us

The original website launched in 2001, having received match funding from the Route Plan, a European funding source was responsible for the creation of the Powys and Ceredigion Health Promotion Unit and the Institute of Rural Health.

In 2004, the website and links database was updated by the Institute of Rural Health. An update from the website was funded by the Countryside Stress Grants Scheme (Wales Council for Voluntary Action) This new website was launched in 2005.

It is not intended to use the information provided on this website, collected from various valid health sources, instead of informed medical advice, and any health concerns should be discussed with your GP. Also note that medical information is still changing, and more recent information may be available over a period of time.

In designing this site, one of the considerations was to make it accessible to everyone. It uses XHTML and CSS authentic. It was also tested against the ” Web Accessibility Initiative ” guidelines , using the Bobby tool, and every effort was made to ensure that it complied with the standards of AA standards, the highest possible standards.
